HIP HOP TAKEOVER JUNE 2006 -- PIONEER DJ DISCO WIZ

DJ Disco Wiz joined the Hip Hop TakeOver on WBAI, June of 2006.  The show was The Originators hosted by B-Boy Omega.

DJ Disco Wiz, born in the Bronx NY, is credited for being the first Latino DJ in hip hop. Disco Wiz, of Puerto Rican and Cuban decent, formed a group called the Mighty Force crew in the mid to late 70's with friend Grandmaster Caz (known then as Casanova Fly).  The Mighty Force Crew also presented the first Latino rapper, Prince Whipper Whip.

DJ Disco Wiz has also written a book called --  It's Just Begun: The Epic Journey of DJ Disco Wiz, Hip Hop's First Latino DJ By Ivan Sanchez and Luis "DJ Disco Wiz" CedeƱo

HIP HOP TAKEOVER ON WBAI 99.5FM!! GET READY!!

This year the Hip Hop TakeOver will broadcast live on WBAI 99.5fm in NY, Saturday, June 25th. The TakeOver starts at 12 midnight and continues for 24 hours,  paying tribute to hip hop's pioneers, legends, icons.  Schedule will be posted soon.

I remember Dynasty from back in the days at Five Towns College rapping in the cafeteria.  Dynasty was just starting her locks then.
