"THE SHOW" WITH IFE' AND THE G-MAN - TRIBUTE TO HEAVY D


Listen to the last show of "The Show" with Ife' and The Mighty G-Man heard on WBAI 99.5FM in NY every other Wednesday morning/late Tuesday night, 3am-5am.

In the first hour we paid tribute to one of hip hop's greats Heavy D.  The rapper, actor, and record producer sadly passed away Tuesday, November 8th at the age of 44 after he collapsed outside of his Beverly Hills home.

HIP HOP TAKEOVER JUNE 2006 -- PIONEER DJ DISCO WIZ

DJ Disco Wiz joined the Hip Hop TakeOver on WBAI, June of 2006.  The show was The Originators hosted by B-Boy Omega.

DJ Disco Wiz, born in the Bronx NY, is credited for being the first Latino DJ in hip hop. Disco Wiz, of Puerto Rican and Cuban decent, formed a group called the Mighty Force crew in the mid to late 70's with friend Grandmaster Caz (known then as Casanova Fly).  The Mighty Force Crew also presented the first Latino rapper, Prince Whipper Whip.

DJ Disco Wiz has also written a book called --  It's Just Begun: The Epic Journey of DJ Disco Wiz, Hip Hop's First Latino DJ By Ivan Sanchez and Luis "DJ Disco Wiz" Cedeño

HIP HOP TAKEOVER RADIO 12/8/07 - PIONEER UNCLE RALPH MCDANIELS

The radio broadcast of the Hip Hop TakeOver will air Saturday, June 25th on WBAI 99.5 FM in NY, and we are paying tribute to hip hop's pioneers.  Pioneer Uncle Ralph McDaniels joined us a few years ago. He spoke to listeners and reminisced about the early days of hip hop.
